WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE EUROPEAN?

•          Europe stands for = represents = epitomizes= embodies …..

•          A Community without borders

•          We feel European especially when we visit another country= when we are abroad.

•          A freedom of movement / To move freely

•          European countries are easy to reach and it is easy to carry out exchanges among them.

•          A single currency

•          I am part of the construction of Europe

•          It favors the weaving (tissage)of relations between different people

•          The geographical barriers

•          Something unites us

•          I do not have a local identity any more because most of the decisions upon which my life rest are taken  at a European level.

•          A citizen of the world

•          An identity

•          An open space and a non-inclusive space.

•          It is not a common feeling  and it is just an idea.

•          I don’t feel European because different countries have different cultures, different assumptions = opinions and different thoughts.

•          Some people feel that Europe is more of a burden than anything else

•          We can’t feel the advantages of Europe but more of its drawbacks

•          The Union does a lot of things especially for young people ( Erasmus)

•          It promotes democracy , culture and equality beyond nations.

•          A space where you don’t need to define yourself in term of national identity.

•          Belonging to the same family

•          A family where everybody has a say

•          Where we are different but where diversity is a positive thing

•          It is more of a feeling of belonging to something bigger than your own country

•          it is sharing a common ground without losing your identity

•          for a small country it makes you stronger to have a say in international politics

•          it is an excellent feeling

•          you can experience different languages

•          it is a broader space to make new friends
