Although a law is now forcing comanies in the uk to be transparent as to the discrepany between men and women’s wages, we are bound to observe that the gender pay gap is still a fact .

The author adds that this current situation is all the more surprising as despite the law the discrimination against women as far as their earnings are concerne dis increasing.

Some governments are trying to solve this issue with new measures and laws to be drafted / designed

The text proceeds with an explanation as to this gap in gender incomes . it seems that the root cause of this phenomenon is due to  gender education.

Indeed the small progress that we can witness in businesses is due to the fact that women ‘s education and school results are improving.Thus their qualification is higher which leads to better job opportunities.

And yet a spokesperson for the government highlights that trying to have more women hired will lead them to be employed in lower- paid jobs and thus will not ensure any salary raise.

I am bound to say that any unfair treatment of any humanbeing must be abolished.

Yet we could wonder if POSITIVE DISCRIMINATION  should be applied in this case.

It is fair to say that in the past women were discriminated against and that thanks to governmental measures implemented in the world of work things have much improved.

YET in view of the progress made, the question remains if it is not an insult to women to apply positive discrimination which implies that women need help to be hired in top jobs.

I reckon women are as capable as men and sometimes even better .

CONCULSION

 To conclude let me add that this question is a major one but i believe there is no silver bullet ( silver bullet = une solution idéale) .

Still the fate of women might get worse with the rising unemployment induced / caused by the widespread use of AI.
