A credit card and contactless

But some people pay with cash

 Some people pay with their mobile phone

 

STEP 2 THE PROS AND CONS OF A CASHLESS SOCIETY

A CASHLESS SOCIETY  = A CASH FREE SOCIETY

A society where money is mainly digital and where coins……….. and banknotes ………….are rare.

Governments save money as they do not have to print bank notes		x
It is more convenient .You can have direct access to your cash as long as you have your phone or credit  card .		x
Technical problems could impact your access to your cash for instance when there is no access to the internet .Think about your phone battery being dead for example .	x
Banks save money as they no longer have to store paper money		x
Some may find it harder to control spending when they don't see physical cash leaving their hands	x
Lower crime rates because there's no tangible money to steal		x
your personal information is exposed to a possible data breach	x
Those without bank accounts will struggle to keep up with evolving cashless technology.So poor people will lose from the system  and economic inequality could increase	x
The currency exChange ( le taux de change) is easier to deal with as everything is done on the internet from any country		x
If hackers drain your bank account, or you experience technical issues, you'll have no alternative source of money	x
Less money laundering ( money laundering = blanchissage d’argent) because there's always a digital paper trail		x
Banks could charge massive fees ( honoraires)  on apps for example	x

 SO SHOULD FRANCE BECOME A CASHLESS SOCIETY ? 

We should not go cashless because too many people are still paying with cash.

Moreover using cash reduces the risk of people going on the black market .

Moreover many customers are still using bank notes and coins

 

As for me they can’t eliminate the cash flow as it is too difficult  

Indeed  there is still a strong cash flow in circulation.

Older people and the new generation alike  pay with new apps and  with their phone  so we could go cashless

There are too many beggars who did cash to live  so we cannot afford to wipe out = eliminate cash

Without phone  there is no payment .
