PART 2 – READING COMPREHENSION
Psychosocial risks (PSR) refer to
situations at work that can harm employees’ mental or physical health. These
risks include chronic stress, burnout, workplace harassment, and emotional
exhaustion.
They often appear when employees face excessive workload, unclear objectives,
or lack of managerial support. Poor communication and low recognition can also
increase frustration and disengagement.
If PSR are not addressed, companies may experience higher absenteeism, reduced
productivity, and increased staff turnover. On the contrary, organizations that
promote dialogue, supportive leadership, and balanced workloads create a
healthier and more efficient work environment.
Preventing psychosocial risks is therefore both a social responsibility and a
strategic management decision.
