THE STATUE OF LIBERTY
The USA stands for the country where everything is possible.
It means a beacon of hope.
It symbolizes liberty/ freedom
it incarnates a land of opportunities = the land of the second chance
it represents the American dream
It embodies wealth / richness
it epitomizes = it symbolizes a better life and descent wages / a descent salary

The immigrants going to America still believe in the golden door .
They still believe that America represents a way/ a means to make ends meet/ to go from rags (haillons) to riches
It epitomizes an opportunity to climb the social ladder
it means equality of chances / a fair deal

A SONG AND A VIDEO : they are coming to America

We saw battery park and the statues representing the immigrants reaching the American shore with Clinton castle in the background and Liberty Island next to Ellis Island.
