READING THE TEXT and summing up :
-Laila is a shop-assistant who has participated to a reality show:
the name of the show is The house arrest because it consists in putting several contestants in ahouse and watching them carry on with their daily business and filming them. She lost as she was voted out/evicted/thrown out by the viewers/audience/spectators.What is particularly distressing is that she was the first one to be evicted. The only job offer she received afterwardswas to pose nude for a magazine. So as she was desperate for money she had to resolve herself to going back to her former job as a shop assistant.
But then some viewers came into the shop to make fun of her/laugh at her/mock her. She is insulted and thus she feels offended so she quits/gives her notice and she is bound to accept these lousy/ immoral job offers to make ends meet/ to pay the rent (the rent= le loyer)
