WATCHING AN EXTRACT FROM THE FILM JUNO
The armchair symbolizes= representes= stands for = suggests= hints at their love making/ her intercourse with her boyfriend.
She drinks loads of sunny D to be able to go through her pregnancy test.She did three of those because she thinks the first one was defective and she can't face her predicament= she can't accept the fact that she is pregnant.
The director shows her buying sweets because He wants to highlight the fact that she is still a young girl and too young to be a mother.
The options she has are Keeping the baby or having an abortion, becoming a surrogate or giving the baby to her stepmother to be raised by her or eventually commit suicide by hanging.

We meet the father for the first time and we are bound to say that he looks a bit ridiculous.he is lanky(dégingandé).On finding out that she is pregnant he is shocked and speechless.
she informs him that she is going to nip it in the bud that is that she intends to get an abortion, and he is relieved.and tells her that she should do what she thinks is best for her.
She feels mixed emotions.She might have expected a little bit more support on his part.She must be disappointed as well as a bit sad.
She goes to a clinic to get a speedy abortion.There she meets a pro-life demonstrator who tells her that the foetus is already shaped with a beating heart and finger nails.
Once in the clinic she is disgusted/ repulsed and decides not to go through the abortion but to keep the baby.
