The days of an accountant sitting in a cube crunching numbers are really going away or are gone .
An accountant has to take those numbers and figure what the meanings are behind those numbers and very importantly be able to communicate that meaning to upper management and those within the business and also make decisions that would be consistent with the numbers and consistent with companies strategy .
