FIRST EXTRACT
she was very bad at school and had poor school results but she pretends that she wanted to be a nun.
She was born on a chicken farm.Still he pretends that she comes from a wealthy family who lived in a beautiful Southern mansion.
Her parents are still alive.And yet he decides they should be dead.
She comes from a poor / penniless family whereas he pretends that her family was wealthy but has lost its fortune.
her marriage was banal/ ordinary but the lawyer declares that it was a runaway marriage and therefore very romantic.
She pretends that she wanted to reform herself whereas She killed her lover to get a revenge because he wanted to dump her after promising to make her a star.

The lawyer is lying to the public to buy the public sympathy.
The lawyer is deceiving the public to get her acquitted
He is conning the public to make her well-known
he is duping the public to get the sympathy of the press.

SECOND EXTRACT
THE journalists are turned/ transformed into puppets because he wants to show that journalists are being manipulated.
