SESSION 1

 WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE A SELF MADE MAN ?

Goal : discuss the pros and cons of creating your own company

Word of the day :  a self made man / woman

An entrepreneur = someone who is self- employed

A CEO = a chief executive officer

STEP 1  WHAT KIND OF JOB WOULD YOU LIKE ?

 THE PROS OF SELF EMPLOYMENT

Being self-employed can have its advantages. These include :

• the opportunity to choose your own hours;
• independence and freedom to try out new ideas;
• increased job satisfaction.
• Means to get rich more rapidly

THE CONS

• pressure  to succeed  
•  legal responsibilities;
• a lack of free time.;
• money worries.
• a lack of holidays,
• a lack of social benefits such as sick pay  and paid holidays

 

the pros

•  BEING ( UN VERBE QUI EST SUJET PREND ING )  SELF EMPLOYED  ALLOWS ME TO  choose my own hours
• I can manage my own wages
• It would allow me to be independent
•  I would be  able to have some remote work
• I could  get rich as quickly as can be
• I lack patience so I could work at my own pace/ according to my own agenda
• I wish to accomplish= fulfil  my dream
• THE CONS
• Creating your own company puts a lot of pressure on your shoulders
• It is not a good idea as you need a lot of money to start = the financoial backing (backing = soutien)
• It would not allow me to have any holidays / free time

2.you have to find a team of great people to work with.You should motivate them and praise them ( to praise = faire des compliments)

3.you have to create a product which is great value for money ( value for money = bon rapport qualité/ prix)

You should promote and market your product

5. you must have a lot  of fun for you as well as for your staff and customers = clients
