A DEBATE

Iin my view we should not ban phones because they avoid ( éviter/ avoid something / ing) cyberbullying

And yet ( et pourtant) they should not be used in class or within limits = with moderation

Indeed smartphones can be informative = educational

I side with you because we can see our marks on pronote for example

I don’t side with you because I believe that banning phones is a positive thing because  it would prevent ( empécher prevent someone from + ing ) some students from taking photos of other students

On the other hand  we need our phones to get in touch with our parents ( get in touch with = prendre contact avec )

I reckon you are wrong because phones impact our mental health  and we can lose our confidence
