BUT HERE IS MY OWN TAKE ON THINGS
 The film that i intend to review today is entitled LEE MILLER .Its very title thus encapsulates = summarizes the whole point of the film which is a faithful rendition = interpretation of the last leg of= the last step  Lee Miller’s life and work.
For those not yet familiar with this character, Lee Miller was an American photojournalist who had started her career as a model to  then turn to journalism mainly for Vogue the renowed Fashion magazine .But what makes her unique is first and foremost  the friendships that her model career  in America and more particularly  in France  had allowed her to strike ( to strike a friendship = se lier d amitié)  and her connections with the french intelligentia of the time. This personal involvement bolstered / energized  her drive/ her desire  to cover the war  on site /from the ground ( sur le terrain)  and not behind a desk.
Thus she fought tooth and nails  ( se battre bec et ongles)  to be allowed to be sent on the front line which meant she was an eye- witness to the liberation of the death camps . She was then given carte blanche to report on the atrocities unveiled there using her camera as her main tool of exposure = denunciation
Her role as well as her photos were alas/ unfortunately  shunned  (to shun = to put aside/ to be ignored ) as they were deemed= were considered  too controversial. If it had not been for her son  her talent and historical contribution would have been forever ignored.
Though the film might be too slow paced for some,  each scene has its function in the storyline. The historical information exposed here is not to be discarded= be ignored.But far more pivotal = crucial are Lee Miller’s gut reactions = instincts to the events to which she is exposed.
By and large = all in all  what i found engrossing = fascinating were the photos displayed in the film and the uncanny = masterful reproduction of these very works of art by the film director.
I was mesmerised by = i was fascinated by lee Miller’s ability to mingle = merge both beauty and accuracy= precision  in her photos.We have to acknowledge her ground-breaking =innovating ability to transcend the ordinary while imparting = conveying her opinions and messages.
Besides we can’t disregard = ignore the fact that she was also a woman in a men’s world .We have to praise her pertinacity= obstinacy  at reaching her goals.
All in all i regard this film as a remarkable endeavor= entreprise  at making us discover a poorly-known figure of our contemporary history and i firmly believe that you can but  ( can but + bv = on ne peut que ) go and see it both for your personal enjoyment as well as your personal knowledge or last but not least to savour a masterful performance by one of the greatest actresses of our times.
