We see a closed store = it is shut down

We can see jeff bezos who is the ceo of amazon who owns massive warehouses ( des entrepots)

The closure of brick and mortar shop is due to amazon and the success of ecommerce

The store closed because ecommerce   is more practical= convenient  to purchase = buy items online

STEP 2 THE PROS AND CONS : make sentences

Your notes :

i prefer shopping at a mall because there are  Many shops in the same location

i disagree because in a physical shop sometimes you  can't find your size

Indeed but on the other hand you can shop twenty four seven

On the flip side i would rather shop in a physical shop because you can try the clothes

i disagree because it is quicker to buy online

however it is easier to park in a shopping center

the plus of a brick and mortar shop is that a salesperson can advise you.

i do not side with you since  on the internet you can  choose the colors and the sizes you want.

i would prefer to shop on line because in a mall you have to  Wait in line

if i were given the choice i would rather buy online because it is more  Convenient

moreover i do not  want to pay the bus fare .

I f i could i would shop in a physical shop to  Eliminate the middle men

Besides it is much more agreeable to shop with your friends.

STEP 3 SO  :WHERE DO YOU PREFER SHOPPING YOURSELF AND WHY ? A BRICK AND MORTAR SHOP OR ON THE INTERNET discuss with your friend and report

use the following expressions

PREFERENCE

I WOULD PREFER TO

I WOULD RATHER +bv

I WOULD LIKE TO………….

I WOULD LOVE TO …………………..

IF I WERE GIVEN THE CHOICE I WOULD +BV

IF I HAD MY SAY IN THE MATTER I WOULD +BV

IF I COULD I WOULD +BV

THERE IS NO PLACE ON EARTH I WOULD RATHER BE THAN +NOUN

STEP 5 another option : CLICK AND COLLECT

1.    Comment comprendre un texte : who where when

2.    3 lectures

3.     Se concentrer sur les mots que je connais

4.    Essayer de deviner le sens si

-ils ressemblent au français

- je comprends un bout du mot

-je déduis le sens par ce qu il y a avant ou après

APPLICATION : what is click and collect

What is click-and-collect?

The click-and-collect service consists of making an online purchase and picking it up at a physical store or agreed pick-up point. It can be free of charge or involve an extra fee.

Another related modality that has become fashionable in the last year is curbside pickup, i.e., online purchase and delivery of the purchase at the box office, the store's parking lot or on the buyer's residential street.

Offering in-store returns or curbside pickup is also a common addition to this mode, which is very attractive to reluctant shoppers.

The popularity of click-and-collect in recent months is due to the fact that it avoids physical contact with couriers and is often a free or cheaper option compared to the home delivery charges common in most ecommerce.

While until last year offering click-and-collect was a secondary option for most online stores, today it has become a must-have. According to Adobe Analytics, in April 2020 the use of click-and-collect grew by 208%, and in countries such as the UK click & collect orders are expected to double by 2025.
