We can see/ notice   the emergency services on a road  that is leading to a planet / where we can see = remark a planet
 The planet is bleeding = is losing blood = is hurt = is injured
I would like to  say that the planet is / was killed by a knife 
As For me/ in my point of view  the message of the author  is  that  global warming is responsible  for the damaged earth.
