chris gardner used to be homeless/ sleep rough/ sleep on the pavement.his mother was jailed twice/ put in prison twice first because she allegedly received some welfare benefits while working.The second time because she tried/ attempted to kill her husband because he was beating her down./ abusing her Later he had to sleep in public bathroom in subway stations with his infant son.he was raped once by a gang member but he blocked the memory out.He started an apprenticeship to become a stockbroker.he came first of his class and created his own business.he was terrorized by his stepfather who kicked him out at gunpoint.he decided to get an education through books: he is the typical self-made man who ade it to the top/succeeded.
