It concers one family composed of 2 sisters. One is ill from leukimia and the younger one has been genetically engineered .Indeed the parents wanted to conceive a compatible donor for their elder child. So they resorted to in vitro fertilization during which you put a spermatozoon in an egg via a tube.
When the parents asked the girl to give a kidney to her sister , she decided to sue them for the right to use her own body as she wished. She refused to go on with the operation because no one has asked for her opinion and she believed she had a say ( have a say = avoir son mot à dire)in the matter .
A CONFRONTATION : the parents versus the girl
THE CHILD/ THE DAUGHTER THE PARENTS
I blame you for nt asking for my permission
- I accuse you of not considering my life as well ( as well = également)
- I criticize you because the operation is not without consequences.
-I resent you because you are playing with my life and putting me in danger/ in jeopardy
-I blame you because I might not survive the operation/ the surgery
-You should not have created me fr my sister's sake ( for someone's sake = pour le bien de qq)
-I don't want to exist solely (uniquement) for someone else -You should be thnakful we gave you life.
- I blame you for being selfish
- You ought to save her
- you created for that purpose.
- How could you let your own sister die?
- If you were in her shoes , you would be happy to find a donor.
