THE MEXICAN AMERICAN BORDER
The three photos that we perused all show about the same sight. Illegal immigrants trying to sneak into America. To do so, they resort to different means.Indeed while one is jumping over barbed wire or rather a wired fence, others have put bits and pieces together and turned them into a canoe to be able to wade across the Rio Grande. The different methods are mainly due to the different points of entry that those undocumented have selected . Those who are using a raft are aiming at Texas while the man climbing over the Tortilla curtain ( the fence) is crossing via California.
The last photo is quite different though since, while the others are looking for entry points, the last group presents us with undocumented workers who are sent back to Mexico by the border patrol.
They were no doubt apprehended and are now deported through massive gates which no doubt might have once seemed to them as the Golden gates to a bright future.
The latter might have fallen into the hands of the border patrol agents as they had no grasp of the English language or because they were betrayed by a coyote or the smugglers (contrebandiers) operating along the border.
No picture here displays the funnels dug by some of the aliens to get access to the land of milk and honey. But it is quite obvious that their deportation means that all these candidates to a better life have seen their hopes dashed (brisé) .


THE MEXICAN AMERICAN FRONTIER (a simplified version)
The three photos that we are going to study all show the same thing illegal immigrants trying to get inside the US illegally.
To enter the USA, they use different means (moyens):Some jump over the fences, others use a canoe to cross the Rio Grande river.The illegals use a different method according to where they enter the country, either Texas or California.
But we have no doubt they will be arrested by the Border Patrol and then deported back into Mexico.So America will thus not represent the brilliant future they were hoping for.Maybe they were arrested because they could not speak the language or because they were abandonned by a coyote or smuggler that they paid to help them cross.Some even dig tunnels under the fences.Anyway it is quite clear that all these aliens if they are arrested , see their hopes dashed/broken.
