a gap year

why do people take a gap year?
to relax and wind and take some time off
in order to travel around the world and discover new cultures and new peoples
to have new experiences
to learn another language
their aim sometimes is to work for a charity
to save money and earn some cash for their future studies
their purpose is to have fun for one year
so as to stop studying for one year and find the value of school back.


PARENTS VERSUS CHILDREN

it is a waste of time
it will be too hard to go back to school afterwards
you are too young to do so
You have to respect social conventions
I forbid it because you must complete your studies first
You are unable to live on your own so it will be far worse when you are alone
I forbid it because you have no money enough to afford it . I am determined to travel now because I will be too old later to d such a daring act.
I intend to take a gap year to learn a new language for my future job

I will endeavour to learn a new language
I plan on travelling around the world

her parents and especialy her mother who won't allow her to go on a gap year and refuses to speak to her during the day .
The father has an in-between position and refuses to take side

What? The arguement between the mother and the daughter about the gap year.
