DETAILED UNDERSTANDING
Read the text a second time and find the 8 actions that can sum up the story.
1.Romeo meets Juliet during a ball at The capulet’s mansion / house and it is love at first sight. Unfortunately (malheureusement) he finds out / he discovers that Juliet is his foe’s daughter .
2.He decides to go and see her after the party.He climbs up (grimper) her balcony.
3.They agree (se mettre d’accord) to get married = to wed
4.Tybalt, Juliet’s cousin challenges Romeo and Romeo kills him/slays him/ murders him/assassinates him.
5.Romeo is banished for his crime.
6.Juliet refuses to get married to Paris because she is already married to Romeo in secret.
7.Juliet pretends to commit suicide not to be forced to marry Paris.
8.Romeo comes back to see her one last time because he believes she is really dead.So he poisons himself in her grave (a grave= a tomb)
9.Juliet wakes up and she discovers Romeo’s dead body / corpse/ cadaver so (so= donc) she stabs herself with a dagger.


Homework : learn everything we said about Shakespeare and Romeo and Juliet for Thursday and an oral exam.
For the module: test on Romeo and juliet and the notion preference and the simple tense that we will have studied by then.
