A DEBATE ON GUN CONTROL
charlotte's view
As far as guns are concerned
With respect to guns
there are 2 sides
A traditional use (a use= une utilisation)
farmers need guns to shoot animals
should be allowed (be allowed = être autorisé)
Guns should be allowed in the country
the country(la campangne)
hunt (chasser)
instead of (au lieu de ) You should listen instead of talking in class.




for guns:
we should be allowed to have guns to protect our family
Our safety/security requires (require=demander/exiger) )the right to bear arms

a gun is a reassuring/conforting presence in this violent and dangerous world
the new terrorist threat (menace) requires the right to have a weapon (a weapon = une arme)
if I'm not mistaken, guns are already used by the police so why shouldn't citizens have the same rights.


against guns:
Guns are shoot and kill people
Weapons are not toys (a toy= un jouet) and some children might find them and die
If I am not mistaken, this is not even an issue as the law forbids the free use of guns.
They lead to (conduire à)pointless violence
If guns were a solution, I wonder why the crime rate is on the increase (on the increase= en augmentation)
They are not efficient (efficient= efficace)to protect us
but only weapons to kill
If you want to be protected , just install an alarm system in your house.
