Suit someone = aller à qq. These jeans suit me (c’es jeans me vont bien)
A suit = un costume

TASK : Discovering the American Electoral process

A TEXT
Read the text and put the different steps back in order :

FIRST STEP : The candidate enter the race in each party

SECOND STEP : Each party organises primary elections in each state to choose the best candidate

THIRD STEP :The nominating convention in each party officially chooses a candidate.They choose a vice president as well and they create their program.This program is called the platform.

FOURTH STEP : The campaign against the candidate of the other party starts.

FIFTH STEP : It is the day of the general election when everybody votes.
A candidate who wins the majority of votes in one state wins all the electoral delegates of this state.

SIXTH STEP : The inauguration day at the white house where the president is officially nominated. He has to take an oath of allegiance and promises to serve the nation.

Pour comprendre un document audio il faut :

- se concentrer sur les bruits (ici l’hymne américain = the National anthem)
- se concentrer sur les nombres : (18 the age to be allowed to vote/ 35 years old : the minimum age to be elected /4 years : the interval between 2 elections/ 3 months : the time between the primary elections and the general election)

Pour comprendre un document audio plus en détail , il faut noter tous les mots que vous avez compris.
Ne pas écouter un document plus de 3 fois.Cela ne sert à rien .
