TOPIC 1 PLASTIC POLLUTION
The industrial pollution is killing our planet
A massive quantity of rubbish is dumped in the ocean
The garbage is thrown into the ocean
The plastic garbage releases toxins
The ocean garbage patch is composed of 3.5 million tons of rubbish
Plastic is non biodegradable

In the middle of the ocean lies millions of debris of plastic / plastic debris
It has an impact on our fertility as we consume fish that have absorbed toxins

STEP 4 SO WHAT SHOULD WE DO ?

To reduce pollution we should use cardboard instead ( cardboard = carton)
We should stop using plastic bags
In order to stop pollution we need to sort out the garbage
We could collect plastic waste
 we should stop throwing garbage in the sea
my advice would be to implement a plastic charge
we should recycle
we had better use reusable cutlery in fast food joints
we should promote reusable plastic items= objects
we had better use landfills (a landfill = une décharge) for plastic alone

TOPIC 3 GREENWASHING
A definition :
Greenwashing is a type of marketing .Indeed some companies pretend they care about the environment while doing things that are harmful/ detrimental  for the planet.
Why is it bad for the environment ?
1.    It dupes people and companies
2.    It allows companies to carry on polluting
3.    It endangers the environment
4.    It leads people to mistrust all the products that claim to be good for the environment even those which are genuailly = trully good products
TOPIC 4 FAST FASHION and SECOND HAND CLOTHES / VINTAGE CLOTHES/ THRIFT SHOPS
THE PROS OF FAST FASHION
-    Low cost of production
-    Customer satisfaction as the clothes cost less and they keep on trend
THE CONS
-    The environmental impact is enormous
-    The human exploitation of the workers who produce the garments
-    The overconsumption which leads people to run into debts
-    The growing dissatisfaction of people who cannot afford as many clothes
THE SOLUTIONS
-reusing your own clothes
- stop following every single fashion trend
- buy on resale sites
- buy second hand clothes
- buy in thrift shops ( a thift shop = une boutique d’occasion)
